A Timeline of Newgreens Chatswood’s Construction

Project update timeline

September 2022 to March 2023

Two cameras have been capturing daily time-lapse images to document the transformation of the Newgreens Chatswood precinct. The footage reveals the early stages of site preparation, the careful removal of the original clubhouse, and the initial excavation works. It also captures the establishment of the construction village, thoughtfully positioned near the former 4th tee—marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the space.

At 28 March 2023

On 22 March 2023, two cameras captured views of the evolving Newgreens Chatswood site—one from the twelfth fairway, the other near the Beaconsfield Road entrance. With Beaconsfield Road no longer used for construction access, a new road was built from Mooney Street using excavated material, curving around the pond. Excavation and sandstone cutting are progressing ahead of schedule, thanks to favourable weather.

At 2 August 2023

Foundation works are underway at the future clubhouse site, with exposed sandstone revealing the depth and character of the terrain. Scaffolding now surrounds the northern ILU building, marking another visible step forward in the precinct’s transformation.

At 24 August 2023

Level 1 of the clubhouse is being prepared for its next concrete pour. The structure sits at the heart of the site, with the northern ILU buildings rising to Level 2 in the foreground, near the rock carpark area—marking steady progress across the precinct.

At 24 March 2024

Seven months later, the clubhouse has reached its top floor, with pillars in place ready for the roof installation. Meanwhile, course works have commenced, marking a new phase in the transformation of the Newgreens Chatswood precinct.

At 29 June 2024

The clubhouse roof is complete and golf course works begin.

In the first image, the clubhouse roof structure is now in place, marking a major milestone in the build. To the right, formwork is underway for the final section of the entry drive from Beaconsfield Road. The crane previously stationed at the northern end has now been removed—another quiet sign of progress.

In the second image, the clubhouse sits just left of the crane, while earthworks continue around the dam to increase water storage for future course irrigation. In the foreground, McMahons’ equipment signals the official start of course upgrade works.

At August 2024

These aerial views reveal the curve of the new access road from Beaconsfield Road, thoughtfully integrated into the landscape. They also highlight the venue’s proximity to Chatswood and Sydney’s CBD – bringing elevated experiences within easy reach.

At October 2024

Recent views across the Newgreens Chatswood course reveal steady progress in reshaping the landscape. The first hole now features a contoured green ready for finishing, while the second fairway showcases new rock walls and a pond nestled beside the play line. Earthworks around the dam continue, with raised walls increasing water capacity for future irrigation. Nearby, new tee positions for the third hole are taking shape, and construction activity is visible in front of the Independent Living Units – each detail contributing to the evolving vision of the reimagined course.

At late December 2024

The shell of the Watermark residences and the clubhouse is now clearly visible, while grounds work continues across the course as part of its reimagining. The transformation is well underway, with each stage bringing the precinct closer to its next chapter.
